Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the collection, writing, and distribution of key news and articles for constituent and regional audiences
- Promotes events and assists with community-relations initiatives as needed using news media, community calendars, and signage
- Proofreads or supervises proofreading of news articles, press releases, and event promotion created by the university for the public
- Oversees photo studio logistics and collaborates with team members to ensure university’s marketing photography needs are met
- Monitor university perception and develops message concepts and themes to improve the university’s reputation in collaboration with other members of the team
- Foster relationships on campus to gather meaningful, actionable stories
- Hires, mentors and supervises student writers
- Contracts with freelancers to assist with workflow when necessary
- Performs all other reasonable business-related functions as assigned
