The employees in Marketing and University Relations are the brand specialists for Southern. Department personnel have expertise in a variety of marketing and public relations areas. Whether through graphic design, writing, web, social media or other communications initiatives, the team's job is to make the entire university look polished and united.

The office's work includes advertising, crisis communication, media relations, publications, strategic marketing plans, web communication, special event promotion plans, and recruitment and fundraising initiatives, among other services.

Vice President: Ingrid Skantz

The vice president for Marketing and University Relations is responsible for internal monitoring and external communication of the Southern brand, leading comprehensive efforts to increase understanding, support, and conveyance of the university mission and goals with all university publics.

Director: Janell Hullquist

The director helps to facilitate the comprehensive and integrated marketing communications plan to increase understanding, support, and communication of the university mission and goals to all audiences, both internally and externally.

Communication Manager: Tina Smith

As a key member of the creative team responsible for the marketing and communications strategy for the university, the Communication Manager promotes the university to its constituents through a variety of media outlets.

Digital Engagement Manager: Joseph Hyde

The digital engagement manager develops content that reaches university constituents by leading, developing, and implementing a social and digital advertising strategy. This position focuses on analytics, testing, and optimization as well as social media campaigns and online relationship development.

Editorial Manager: Becky Brooks

The editorial manager is responsible for developing strong content and distributing written communications for Southern Adventist University and serves as a key member of the team responsible for shaping the marketing and communications strategy for the university. 

Graphic Design Manager: Emily Harding

The graphic design manager supervises and implements
visual communication, aesthetic expression, and photography to meet the artistic needs of the university brand and is a key member of the creative team that oversees all marketing and communication activities for the university.

Website Design Manager: Kroania Huskins

The website design manager works alongside the website development manager and the director to craft a compelling website through innovative design that drives the university's mission, brand, visual identity, and key messages while enhancing the user experience.

Website Development Manager: Isaac Braun

The website development manager works closely with the director to create and implement the strategy and goals for the university website. This position requires a high level of design and development proficiency for both client and server web software.
