What can I do with a biology degree?
A biology degree prepares students for the study of living organisms. The BA is a solid science degree with more general education classes than are required by the BS degree. The BA can also include secondary-school teacher certification.
Should I pursue a BS in biology?
With a BS in biology, you can pursue graduate study leading to research in the basic sciences; careers in natural biology such as marine biology, genetic counseling, physiology, biotechnology, ecotoxicology, and research; or employment in industry or government.
The biomedical emphasis is strong preparation for medical, dental, and other medically based graduate programs such as optometry, pharmacy, health education, and public health.
