Center For Learning Innovation and Research
Our Goal
The Center for Learning, Innovation, and Research is envisioned as a nexus of exploration and advancement, uniting both faculty and students in a symbiotic endeavor towards fostering knowledge and facilitating insightful research. Our center is devoted to cultivating a rich research culture, aiding individuals from all departments regardless of their research acumen. We aim to be the scaffolding that supports, nurtures, and elevates the investigative spirit, by providing necessary resources, guidance, and a collaborative environment. Through our efforts, we strive to propel the frontiers of understanding forward, paving the path for academic, professional, and societal growth.

Message from the Director
Welcome to the Center for Learning Innovation and Research (CLIR)! Our center serves
as the hub for faculty and graduate research on the Southern Adventist University
campus. Enhancing research capabilities on campus is crucial for fostering academic
excellence and innovation. It enables faculty and students to pursue cutting-edge
projects, secure competitive funding, and contribute valuable knowledge to their fields.
This, in turn elevates the university’s impact on our students, our alumni, and the
larger regional and global communities.
The process of conducting research is a learning process. And learning is fundamental to how our Creator has designed the human mind. Romans 1:20 says, “Ever since the creation of the world God’s eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been seen and understood through the things god has made.” As a learning institution, Southern advocates for a better understanding of God through what god has made, which is why this center is devoted to promoting research and innovation for our faculty and students, especially in the area of learning.
I am excited to be a part of something so profoundly committed to bettering the lives of those around us through science and education. Should you want to be a part of this growing community yourself, please reach out to us and we will work hard to facilitate your project from concept to completion.
God bless,
