Computers & Software

Thirty desktop computer stations are available for students, faculty, and staff. The sixteen stations near the circulation desk are available for use by community guests.

All desktop computers have the following software:

• Microsoft Office Suite: All library computer stations include the full Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher, and Outlook.
• Mathematica: This program is a technical computing system with resources for all areas of technical computing. All library stations have Mathematica installed.
• Mendeley: This bibliographic management program is available on all library computers.
• SPSS: SPSS is a software package for interactive statistical analysis. All library stations have SPSS installed.

Fifteen laptops are available for students, faculty, and staff to borrow from the circulation desk.  Laptops are to be used in the library for up to four hours.

All laptops have the following software:

All patrons automatically agree to the following policies when borrowing a laptop:

• The laptop and its accessories will not be left unattended.
• Any loss or damage to the laptop or accessories will result in replacement fees at the cost of the item and processing fees of $25 per item.
• Patrons must save any files to a personal storage device or online storage site. McKee Library is not responsible for losing any files left on the laptop.
• Patrons must not install, remove, or modify any of the software, hardware, or accessories provided with the laptop.
• Patrons must abide by Southern Adventist University’s internet usage policies.

McKee Library provides the following resources:

• Tablets: Students, faculty, and staff may check out iPads and Microsoft Surface tablets for one week.
• Hand Recorders: Students, faculty, and staff may check out Zoom H1 Handy Recorders from the library for one week.
• Calculators: Students, faculty, and staff may check out TI-30X calculators for one week.
• Headphones: All patrons may check out headphones in exchange for ID while in the library.
• Connectors: Students, faculty, and staff may check out projector connectors for one week.
