Accessibility
Locating Materials
Library staff members are available to help with:
- copying call numbers and printing citation lists
- locating periodicals
- using databases, library catalogs, the Internet, and microfiche and microfilm readers
Assistance with retrieving materials is available at the circulation desk. For speedier service, it helps to bring a list with your name and number, titles and authors, and call numbers for books.
Checking Out and Returning Materials
You may appoint someone to borrow materials in your name; ask at the front desk about getting a proxy borrower card. We accept telephone and email renewals for patrons with disabilities.
Dictation
Voice dictation is built into Windows and is also available on the vast majority of cell phones. In Windows, start a new document and press the Windows logo key + H. On cell phones, voice dictation is available in many applications. Microphone headsets are available at the media desk.
Photocopying
Library staff members are usually available to make copies for patrons unable to use a photocopier. If no one is available, you may leave materials and instructions at the circulation desk for pickup at a later time. Compliance with the U.S. Copyright Law is required.
Physical Access to the Library
Ramps are located on the north and south entrances (35" doors). Handicap-accessible door opening buttons are located at both entrances, as well as the door leading to the library's main floor. The elevator is located toward the back of the library near the restrooms.
Personalized Services
The library provides equal access for all patrons but does not provide personal services. Individuals are responsible for independently using library resources and must make provisions for personal reading, typing, or note-taking services.
Service Animals
