Wilson Paroschi joined the School of Religion in January of 2018. Before coming to Southern, he served as a professor of New Testament studies at the Latin-American Adventist Theological Seminary at the Brazilian Adventist University (UNASP), located in Engenheiro Coelho, São Paulo, Brazil, a position he held for 31 years. He earned a PhD from Andrews University in 2003, and his dissertation focused on John's Gospel. He has authored several books and articles in Portuguese, Spanish, and English for scholarly as well as popular readership and has been a guest lecturer at several Adventist institutions in South and Central America, the United States, and Europe. As an ordained minister, Professor Paroschi has also served as a church pastor and editor at the Brazilian Publishing House. In 2011 he spent a year of postdoctoral research in New Testament textual criticism at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
He is married to Eliane (MA in early childhood education from Andrews), and they have two daughters, Keldie and Keilyn. His hobbies include soccer, traveling, and water sports.
